About UsHi! I am Faye Ford and I am located in New Norway, AB. I have been a CKC registered breeder since 2015. My toy poodles are a big part of my family and I couldn’t imagine life without them! One of the most important things about picking a breeder to buy your new puppy from is to know a little bit about them and to understand their relationship with the dogs that they own. This tells you a lot about the kind of care and attention that is provided within those crucial first weeks.
Why we chose Toy Poodles. When I was deciding on what breed I wanted for my next dog after my beloved shiz tzu Bubbles passed away I did a lot of research. I wanted a breed that would make an amazing addition to my family and that was an intelligent breed. Due to allergies it also needed to be a dog that did not shed. Although both shiz tzu's and poodles are non-shedding breeds, the poodle ranks a lot higher on the intelligence scale. Although no breed is completely hypo-allergenic the poodles did not trigger my dog allergies. These small dogs are beautiful jewels. The reason that I chose the toy poodle instead of a standard or miniature poodle is that they are such a great size for at home, the office or taking with me while traveling or running errands. They are non-shedding, small enough to carry around and of course because they are cute! Why we chose the name Tina’s Jewels. I want to explain why I chose the name Tina’s Jewels. Tina was the first dog that I ever had. She was a white toy poodle that my parents babysat for a neighbor while they were away when I was in early elementary. She developed such a great bond with us that we ended up keeping her and we had her until she passed away about 12 years later. I have fond memories of her always sitting on a stool in the living room that faced the front window watching for us to come home. She was a loved family member and even slept on the foot of my bed. The Jewels part of the name came out of a passage from the Bible in Revelation 21:19. I love this passage and the way that it describes the different layers of Jewels in the foundation of the wall. Each of my toy poodles have been named after one of the layers of Jewels. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass." |
